We are back! The Premier League resumes!

Manchester City face Arsenal.

Pep spoke ahead of the return game and had many things to say.

Let’s dive in.

Pep on Arteta-

“I’m looking forward to seeing him again, he’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met, He knows everything about us.” The feeling I have is he’s happy there and doing an incredible job.”

“We are delighted he will come back, especially if he is happy there. We sent a message an hour and a half ago. It was about the wine we are going to drink after the game if social distance allows!”

Pep on return-

“We are going to play and we will adapt as quickly as possible,” he said on a video conference with journalists on Tuesday afternoon.

“They [the players] came back really well. We have absolutely no complaints. But the way we are right now, like other clubs, we don’t know.

“Tomorrow we will see the level of the team and from there we will see what we can do better. All the teams in the Premier League have just three and a half weeks.

“We know it isn’t enough, but it is what it is. Everyone suffered in this situation, personally and economically, and we have to adapt.

“They are training well, but I don’t know exactly their condition.”

Pep on squad use/rotations-

“Yes [I’m concerned about the injury risk],” he added.

“We are ready to play one game, but three days after another and four days after another...we are not ready.

“We have to rotate and use all the players. The players are in a naturally good physical condition. You can play after a two week holiday - but not three months.

“But we have to start the season.”

Pep on Champions League, Burnley-

“Honestly there is no thought about Real Madrid or the UCL now. Normally I don’t prepare games or ideas thinking much longer. All I am thinking about is Arsenal. And then how we recover and play against Burnley.”

That is it for this game. Premier League is back! Get Excited!
