Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has joked he will come back a little “fatter” once football resumes following the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The City boss, who donated one million euros to help fight the virus in his home country, urged blues fans to heed the scientific and medical advice and posted a video message as part of City’s “Cityzens At Home” campaign.
“We miss football. We miss the life that we had a few days ago but now is the time to listen, to follow our scientists, doctors and nurses” Guardiola said in the message. “You are my football family and we are going to do everything possible to make you feel better.
“We’ll come back from this stronger, better, kinder and a little bit fatter. Stay inside, stay safe.” And in an effort to prevent fans’ waistlines increasing, the favourite recipes of the City players have been posted online in an effort to promote healthy eating.
The blues will also provide downloadable colouring sets to try and keep children occupied, as well as daily skills challenges, while mindfulness classes will also be provided to help fans deal with any mental health issues that arise due to sustained periods of social distancing.
