In a sad but necessary turn of events, all football across the UK has been suspended for three weeks due to the outbreak of Coronavirus. The UK government expects things to get worse as the UK is yet to reach the peak of the infection and, while postponing the fixtures was the right thing to do, it’s left us football fans wondering how we’re going to fill the next three weeks at least.
Fear not as Bitter and Blue are here to help you through it. Our Premier League season has not been great as it looks as though Liverpool will eventually get their hands on the Premier League title, so to wash away that terrifying reality, we will be posting a series of posts looking back over the years at classic matches and players.
We’re going well into the past and taking a look at some of the masters of the game who have had the honour of wearing the blue and white kit, as well as some of those who signings raised eyebrows and the fans blood pressure levels.
Classic matches will be featured too, with a look back at some of City’s greatest games, famous wins and amazing comebacks. But this wouldn’t be complete without some Typical City moments, so we’ll also look at those matches where the blues have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, results that would be a surprise to anyone else but the blues and unbelievable moments that could only happen to City. We’ll also include video clips where possible and where legal ramifications allow us.
Of course, we will keep you up to date with any changes that happen in particular those that affect the blues as and when we know about them.
So, if you’re self-isolating or have been unfortunate to be hit by the virus (in which case, get well soon), sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster ride that is Manchester City.
