After a monstrous away win in Madrid yesterday night, it was Kevin De Bruyne who stepped up and claimed the penalty to send the blues home winners.
A struggle all season that has seen many players miss penalties and be ridiculed as a club for it. Yesterday’s game proved not only that KDB should be the place kicker and that he is now effectively the world’s best midfielder.
No questions anymore. He stepped up when it mattered most. Both on the field and at the spot kick. He echoed those sentiments saying-
“I was happy to take the responsibility and to try to help the team,” said the Belgian midfielder.
“I never blame anyone if they take a penalty and miss. I took the responsibility so its nice to help the team.
“We still have to work to do though (in the second leg).”
Strong and wise words from him. He took the responsibility and came good.
On we move with ole Kevin De Bruyne.
