Manchester City continue a great run of form. Thanks to first-half goals from Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne City earned a comfortable 2-0 win over Fulham.
Sterling nicked one just after five minutes and De Bruyne added a second from the penalty spot on 25 to complete the pair of goals.
City missed chances to record a bigger margin of victory, but should be pleased to come through another 90 minutes with not only a win, but a clean sheet and no injuries.
We move, on to the reaction-
Pep Guardiola Reaction
“Yeah [we could have scored more goals], but I see the positive things after the performances of the last three or four games,” he said.
“More positives than the opposite. I am delighted with the performance in Portugal, the chances we created were so good. Burnley had so few shots, today Fulham had one, Porto one.
“We will improve, we know it, but if we win the games, it’s enough.”
“Yes, I wanted the guys to play 90 minutes and most of them are not going to play Wednesday and the guys who didn’t play today will play Wednesday,” he said.
“I decide to play 90 minutes with these guys and a fresh 90 minutes for the rest of the players. After that we will see the best selection for the next games.
“In the Champions League, we have done the job but we have prestige to play for, it’s a serious game and we will respect the competition - Marseille and Olympiakos are still playing for Europa League [qualification].
“After this game we will see about United and how we want to play.
“We want to be there until the end, wins games. To win the Premier League you have to win a lot of games.”
“Raheem always tries.” he said.
“I have no doubts, for a striker it’s always important to score goals and that’s what he’s done, so it’s good.”
“Yeah, of course. Of course, the rates are good, so a lot of games 700, to have rated more than 70% victories. So it’s really good. How good we have done this. I don’t know - travelling 13 years all together. So I cannot forget Barcelona time. Like was, it is a club of my heart. The club, Like I was a ball boy. Like it was everything.”
“ It gave me everything and to get the opportunity to go to Munich. And Manchester - incredible organisations like I am. I am really proud to be part of, and yeah, just rest and Continue.”
