Gareth Taylor and Caroline Weir have been nominated to receive WSL awards after the blues strong showing in December.
Manager Taylor is up for Manager of the Month after guiding the team to four straight victories, which has seen City fire up their WSL title charge with impressive victories over Everton and Arsenal, while also progressing to the last 16 of the Champions League with a 5-1 aggregate victory over FC Goteborg.
Weir has been nominated for the Player of the Month award, after a string of impressive performances which has seen her provide four assists in two games, before hitting an injury-time winner at home to Arsenal.
That victory lifted City to fourth in the WSL table, eight points behind leaders United but with a game in hand, and return to WSL action on 9th January when West Ham arrive in Manchester.
Taylor and Weir face tough competition to land the awards. Chelsea’s Emma Haynes, Casey Stone of United and Spurs Rehanne Skinner are the other nominees for the manager’s award, while Jess Fishlock (Reading), Caitlin Foord (Arsenal), Sam Kerr (Chelsea) and Leah Galton (United) are all up for the player of the month award.
The winners will be announced on 15th January. Good luck to both Gareth and Caroline.
