Manchester City Women look to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League as they welcome Goteborg to the Academy Stadium.

The blues lead from the first leg after they came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Georgia Stanway and Sam Mewis and are favourites to make another appearance in the last 16. The blues were knocked out at that stage last season by Atletico Madrid, and Gareth Taylor will be hoping to take his side further in the competition this time around.

City go into the match, buoyed by Sunday’s win over Arsenal, when Caroline Weir scored a stoppage time winner to keep City just five points behind the leaders United.

Team News

Manager Taylor has said Lauren Hemp could return to the starting eleven, but Rose Lavelle and Megan Campbell are doubtful.

Goteborg have no further injury concerns.

Prediction

City did brilliantly to recover from conceding a goal in the second minute and will surely be too much for the Swedish champions.

City 3-0 Goteborg
