According to reports on the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) club’s official website, the 19-year-old has just completed her first year at Manchester City after joining the club from Irish side Sion Swifts in August 2019.
Toland was handed just 15 minutes of Barclays FA Women’s Super League football last season by Manchester City while she was an unused substitute on no less than 11 occasions. Toland has not been named in Gareth Taylor’s matchday squad so far this season, leaving her short of playing opportunities.
In a bid for regular first team football, Toland has completed a loan move to Glasgow City ahead of the resumption of the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) later this month. Scott Booth’s side kick-off the campaign with a mouthwatering home fixture against Fran Alonso’s Celtic side at Broadwood on Sunday 18 October.
In joining Manchester City, Toland signed her first professional deal. Although, she has had a lack of playing opportunities during her career so far at The Academy Stadium, the player remains one for the future.
It has been reported that Toland will spend the entire 2020/2021 campaign with Glasgow City, returning to her parent club once the Scottish Women’s Premier League (SWPL) season has ended in May.
We have no doubt she’ll make a good impact in the club having carried on with her a lot of experience from Manchester City.
