Raheem Sterling says he welcomes taking on a side willing to go toe to toe with Manchester City after an exciting 1-1 draw away at Leeds United.
In a great match up between City and Leeds and their managers Pep Guardiola and Marcelo Bielsa, Sterling came away impressed by the rivals.
Sterling said-
“They were right in our faces,” he reflected after the draw at Elland Road.
“I prefer playing against teams like that instead of 11 men behind the ball.
“It was a difficult game. The energy levels from start to finish were impressive.”
”We’ve done fantastic with the short squad that we have had and after the international break, we should have a fit squad and ready to go.”
“There were a few setbacks that we’ve had like injuries. (But) I think we’ve done well.”
Lastly on the penalty shouts in the game Sterling declined to fan the flames saying, “I’m not going to say too much, but it is what it is!”
All in all, interesting words from Sterling.
