Manchester City duo Phil Foden and Ferran Torres have both been shortlisted for this season’s European Golden Boy List.
Foden has shone for City since Premier League football returned following Covid-19 lockdown and made his England debut last month, while Torres’ performances for his previous club Valencia has also earned him a place on the list.
The award is specifically for players under the age of 21 and the winner will be announced on 14th December. 40 journalists will decide on the winner, with previous victors including Lionel Messi and former blue Mario Balotelli.
The Premier League has six nominees in total, with Fabio Silva (Wolves), Mason Greenwood (United), Callum Hudson-Odoi (Chelsea) and Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) also making the shortlist. City are one of four teams with two nominees, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund all having two players on the list.
