Manchester City are looking at the possibility of Mauricio Pochettino taking the reigns at the Etihad Stadium should manager Pep Guardiola leave the blues at the end of the season, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The former Spurs boss left the London outfit last November and has been out of work ever since, and it is being rumoured that he is now wanted by both City and United.

The blues have had a stuttering start to the Premier League season, beating Wolves but losing at home to Leicester and drawing at new boys Leeds, and Guardiola said he needed to earn a new contract if he is to extend his stay at the club, and the Catalan seems to be in no hurry to sign any extension on his current contract.

Pochettino has stated that he is looking to return to the Premier League after taking almost a year out, and City would be the ideal opportunity for him to show what he can do. The Argentine guided Spurs to an unlikely Champions League final in 2019 and there will no doubt be similar hopes that he could achieve the same in Manchester.

What do you think? Would Poch be a good replacement for Pep?
