Liam Smith Set For City Move

Manchester City are set to sign Kilmarnock youngster Liam Smith in a move that could mean £200,000 to the Scottish club.

Smith will actually move to Manchester on a free transfer, but Killie will receive a six-figure sum, rumoured to be around £200k as training compensation for the 17-year-old. The Scottish side and are also expected to earn future fees depending on how well the performances of the teenage winger.

Smith, who has never featured for Killie’s first team, has three Scotland Under-17 caps and appeared on City’s radar last summer when the blues made their initial offer.

The Premier League champions have beaten off competition for the youngster’s signature and the deal is poised to be completed this week.
