Manchester City will face Southampton in the fourth round of the League Cup as they aim to take another step in their quest to retaining the trophy.

The blues dispatched Championship side Preston with relative ease last night, thanks to goals form Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus and an own goal from Ryan Ledsan. Meanwhile the Saints beat south coast rivals Portsmouth 4-0 at Fratton Park.

Elsewhere, Aston Villa host Wolves and Watford will travel to Everton. Burton Albion, who were dispatched in ruthless fashion by City last season will host Leicester City while Chelsea host Manchester United, who edged past League One Rochdale on penalties.

Colchester, who beat Spurs on penalties last night, travel to Crawley, while Liverpool host Arsenal and Oxford United, who put West Ham to the sword on Wednesday, host Sunderland.

The matches will be played in the week commencing 28th October.
