Manchester City striker Georgia Stanway has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.
Stanway scored the opening goal in City’s Champions League tie at Lugano on Thursday, but limped off shortly afterwards. The striker was left out of City’s squad to face Reading at the weekend and it was confirmed Stanway would be out of action for another six weeks.
The striker joins new signing Ellen White, who is yet to make an appearance for the bleus since her summer move, on the injury list. As well as the Champions League return match against Lugano, Stanway is set to miss the top of the table clash at Everton, as well as the home match against Birmingham City. However, Stanway could be set to return to the squad for the visit of champions Arsenal on 27th October.
We wish Georgia well and a speedy recovery.
