There has been much hype over Leroy Sane’s Etihad future, with the winger continually linked to a move back to Germany to join champions Bayern Munich.
Manager Pep Guardiola previously stated it is down to the player to decide his own future, but Bayern are so confident that Sane will join them soon that they have cancelled their annual photoshoot until they can include the winger.
Bayern manager Nico Kovac has promised the German side will go ‘all-out’ to sign the German international, stating he is their ‘dream player’ and will ‘do everything to realise this transfer.’ “Our leadership is very engaged in the situation there. I’m confident and assume that we will get him,” Kovac told the press.
Sane started 29 games for the blues last season, but was left out at the start of the season after his commitment and attitude was questioned by German manager Joachim Low, and there has barely been a week go by where Sane’s name hasn’t been linked with a move back to his homeland.
And it now seems that a move is on the cards, with the blues reportedly ready to trigger a reported £68m release clause for Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal as a potential replacement. The 22 year old is primarily a left winger, but is also known to drop into centre midfield or even on the right wing, something which Guardiola wants from his players at City to create space, and could provide a perfect replacement for Sane.
What do you think? Should Sane leave and should the blues go for Oyarzabal? Let us know your thoughts
