Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on youngster Phil Foden, describing him as the most talented player he has ever seen.’
The midfielder has made 37 appearances for the blues since making his debut in 2017 and has scored seven goals, including a vital winner at home to Spurs last season to secure a further three points during City’s title run in.
And Guardiola, who has previously lavished praise on the youngster, said “he has everything he needs to be one of the best players. I have said many times in press conferences, but maybe not said it in front of him, Phil is the most, most, most talented player I have ever seen in my career as a manager.”
The boss also spoke about his handling of Foden in relation to game time. “His only problem is sometimes his manager doesn’t put him in the starting XI. Hopefully in the future that can improve.”
It is high praise from a manager who has managed players such as Andreas Iniesta and Lionel Messi, and judging by his comments today, it is likely that we will see more of Foden in the starting XI next season.
