The transfer rumour mill has been in full swing this week, with the blues apparently close to signing Rodri from Atletico Madrid and Joao Cancelo from Juventus. But another name has been thrown into the mix, while a fan favourite is set to stay.
We start with Rodri and it was reported in the week that City are prepared to meet Atletico’s £62m release clause. There was report interest from Bayern Munich, but the player has decided against the German giants in favour of a move to Manchester.
Joao Cancelo is another that is on the blues radar, and City are believed to be close to an agreement for the full-back, although it is believed the Serie A champions want 10m Euros more than what City have offered.
And with Vincent Kompany leaving the club this summer, attention has turned o possible replacements, and one name has been banded about in recent weeks. Harry Maguire of Leicester City has apparently been identified as the perfect replacement for City’s legendary captain, although the blues are not going to get him on the cheap. Leicester have told the bleus and United, who are also in the hunt, that it will cost around £80m to prise the defender from the Foxes, and it is understood the player would prefer a move to City over United, and some reports claim a medical has already been pencilled in. There has been nothing form City yet, but this week should eb an interesting one.
Finally, Leroy Sane is set to deliver a boost to City and a huge blow to Bayern as he is reported to be ready to turn down the chance to return to Germany and remain with the blues. The attacking midfielder saw his game time limited last season, but reports suggest the German international is now ready to sign a new contract with the club.
What do you think? Will Sane stay? Will Maguire arrive? Is Maguire worth £80m? Let us know your thoughts
