Manchester City’s England women’s defender Abbie McManus has followed Nikita Parris out of the club and makes a move across Manchester to join United.

McManus, who has been with the blues for 12 years, has signed a pre-contract agreement with the newly promoted reds. “It is my dream come true,” McManus, who is a Manchester United supporter, said on Twitter.

The defender made 111 for City, scoring three goals in the process and is part of the England women’s world cup side in France which starts next month.

As with the men’s World Cup last summer, Bitter and Blue will be following the progress of our girls in France.
