Wolves came back from 2-0 down to beat 10-man City 3-2 at Molineux and deliver another significant blow for City’s title hopes
Ederson’s early red card saw us suffer the worst possible start to the game, but a Raheem Sterling double put us 2-0 level.
A resilient Wolves with three second-half goals that had two in the final eight minutes, saw Wolves complete a league double over City in a massively disappointing night.
On to the reaction-
Pep Guardiola Reaction
“For the players a lot, it hurts of course but we have to be mentally strong because in less than two days we have another game,” said the boss.
“We have to move on. I said before we are used to play the first season, quite similar like now but in the second and third season we were there all the time and some of the situations we are far away. We will see what happens at the end.”
“The gap has been big for a long time,” he said. “It is not realistic to think about the title race.
“I have been asked the question for a long time and it is the same answer.”
”Eighty minutes 10 against 11 is so tough, so demanding. We could not defend the result.
”We have to think of the next game and about winning our games. It’s unrealistic to think about that [catching Liverpool]. In 48 hours we have another game.
”We have to be mentally strong because in less than two days we have another game.”
Bernardo Silva Reaction
“It was frustrating… the way we played with ten men and to lose the three points.”
“It’s difficult to last 80 minutes with ten men here against Wolves, one of the most difficult sides in the Premier League.”
“It is a really bad situation for us. A frustrating first half of the season,” he admitted when speaking to Amazon Prime following the loss to Wolves.
“Nobody expected us to be this far away from Liverpool at this halfway point. (But) we have to continue now.
“We know that winning the title is very complicated. I wouldn’t say impossible but very difficult.”

And... ermm it looks like they’re planning to bring in at least five new players in summer. Keep the core but freshen up the squad by bringing in new faces to replace outgoings/weak areas. Gabriel Jesus is still at risk, a transfer was mooted early this year but didn’t happen
