Manchester City are rumored for many targets this January window despite Pep having doubts on January additions.
Let’s take a look at some players recently linked to City.
Erling Braut Haaland
The forward is a rumored target who Pep would love to have. City though have much competition notably Liverpool, Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund. The young striker is a skilled player who could help boost the attack. The question would be is he necessary? Will find out in January.
City according to various Euro based reports, have reopened their talks with Mikel and are looking for a fair deal. The speedy winger could provide depth in the wings as Sterling and Mahrez are really it. Price would be of concern with a reported £62.5m buyout clause.
A January deal for Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake, despite a contract clause seemingly putting Chelsea in pole position to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.
The West London club inserted a £40m buy-back clause into the centre-back’s £20m deal to Bournemouth in 2017, and they are now understood to want Ake back after their FIFA transfer ban was lifted.
City meanwhile while they have the funds need to convince the player. Of use he could be, with City having a rotating door of players in defense and he could conceivably play fullback or center back. The sticking point would be the players wishes and whteher he wants to come or not.
Those are the three big rumored names for January. Here are some quick hit notes on some players for the Summer window.
Kylian Mbappe- rumors have began regarding the young French phenom moving clubs and City along with Real Madrid are his rumored top teams.
Kalidou Koulibaly- One of Italy’s best center backs and has been among City’s biggest transfer targets could finally have the move done this Summer with the turmoil going on at Napoli.
Edson Alvarez and Lisandro Martinez- Two International center backs on Ajax who can play in midfield have been linked to City in the past and could be the move if Napoli are unwilling to play ball.
Kingsley Coman- This rumor comes with the caveat that Leroy Sane would have to depart the club, but it makes sense given Pep’s familiarity with the player
