Thanks to a Kevin De Bruyne master class performance willed City to a 3-0 win at Arsenal in Pep Guardiola’s 200th game in charge of the Club.

The Belgian scored two goals of high quality and set up Raheem Sterling for another as Guardiola’s side put on a fine display in North London.

A win and we move.

On to the reaction-

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“He played so good, as we knew he would, and as he normally does,” said Pep.

“It was his first away start in an important Premier League game and made every action, both offensive and defensive, brilliantly

“He played in a position he was not used to, but playing away at a big club, he did every action with a good rhythm.

”Tactically, we counter attacked well. We can press better, but Kevin, Raheem and Phil have pace on the break and it worked well.”

The Catalan said his team’s ruthlessness in front of goal was the main difference overall, with the Gunners denied by Ederson in the first few seconds.

“They had the first chance and missed, while we Kevin scored an incredible goal with our first chance,” he said.

“Arsenal away is always difficult. It is not an easy place to come.

“We tried to press high and do more passes, but it’s okay as away from home, it is difficult.

“Sometimes we make mistakes and in the second half, we struggled first 20 minutes to find space.

“But the reactions are always there whenever we have lost a game this season, and also the previous season if we had a set-back.

“We lose some games this season and last season only a few, we sometimes play much better than today and we lost, but football is like that.

“Against United we were better. We had an incredible result today but I think the way we played against United was better in many, many ways.

“I know we are judged on the result but I have a duty to judge the performance, not just the result

“We started 17 points behind Liverpool today and had to play Arsenal away, so big congratulations to the team.”

Phil Foden Reaction

“Kev is outstanding with the way he receives, his vision and shooting. It’s just a pleasure to play with him,” said Foden.

“I’m delighted to get a first league start. It means a lot and I’m happy we could get the win and I could help the lads.

“I thought that we were brave on the ball.”

Kevin De Bruyne Reaction

“We know we have not been at our best this year, but we keep on fighting and there’s still a lot of games to play for us,” said De Bruyne.

“Other teams lost points around us, so it was good to get to win today.

“Every time you lose a game, you try to show a reaction in the next one, even though this year we have lost points, every time we come back with a win.

“Every performance you have to be critical of yourself - some are better than others - and at this level, the small details make the difference.”

“I think the first five minutes we were a bit unstable, but the game shifted and we scored two good goals.

“The first 20 of second half was sloppy, but rest was good. To come here win 3-0 and keep a clean sheet is good.”

“The first goal was down to technique,” he revealed. “The ball came to me with a bounce and I tried to keep composed as it was difficult to keep the ball as low as possible.

”I tried to keep composed and not lean too much backwards. It was just low enough to put it under the bar.

”The second goal is a little similar, the keeper doesn’t really see the ball and it gives him less reaction time.

“It’s a long time since I scored a hat-trick and it would been be nice, but to score twice and to come here and win is really important.

“Overall. it was really good performance and reaction.”
