Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was forced off during City’s 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday, and manager Pep Guardiola has stated it is a ‘bad’ injury.
The all-time top scorer hobbled off in the 77th minute and was replaced by Brazilian international Gabriel Jesus. He joined midfielders Rodri and David Silva in exiting the field with injuries during the match, making the fans wonder if a physio is high on Guardiola’s Christmas wish list.
The manager later stated that the injury to Aguero will be bad, stating “Sergio will be bad, I think. Tomorrow we will know it. The feeling is it’s muscular.”
But how bad is bad? Are we looking at losing Aguero for another extended period?
The Argentine striker has scored 13 goals in sixteen games so far this season, so losing him would be a huge blow to City’s title and Champions League chances, but the blues will qualify for the knock-out stages with a point at home to Shahktar Donetsk on Tuesday.
