Manchester City take care of business in a fun game over Chelsea.
Thanks to a mega strike from Riyad Mahrez, it ensured City emerged as 2-1 victors in an exciting, end to end clash with Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
The Algerian won the game with a move that has become his trademark, cutting inside onto and picking out the bottom corner after Kevin De Bruyne’s deflected goal had cancelled out N’Golo Kante’s opener.
Chance after chance was created, but the defending champions arguably took theirs t to secure the Club’s 400th Premier League victory and move up to third in the table.
On to the reaction:
Pep Guardiola Reaction
“Chelsea are an incredible team, we knew it but we beat them. It was a typical high level game. Our back four played so good today. In the most difficult period of the game we scored on the counter. We created enough chances to score more goals.”
“It was a fantastic goal,” said Guardiola afterwards.
“I’m willing the best for my players and Riyad. The quality is there, but he can do better. We’ve seen this season his top quality and he made a fantastic goal today.
”He fought a lot and I’m pretty sure we’re going to see an increase in the next weeks.”
De Bruyne and Mahrez Reaction
“The most important was getting the three points. It was a difficult game.”

Good win for City. Weren't at their very best but 3pts is what matters. Chelsea were bright but City wrestled the game off them and eventually got the goals that mattered. Mahrez & De Bruyne with a bit of Algerian & Belgian sauce.
