Another international break is upon us, and as usual, blues stars are spread out across Europe and the world in general with European qualifiers and friendlies taking place. Let’s take a look at which blues are currently on duty with their national sides.

England

City have two of their stars on duty for England in John Stones and Raheem Sterling, although it has been widely documented that Sterling will play no part on Thursday against Montenegro die to his altercation with Liverpool’s Joe Gomez. The winger may be back in contention to face Kosovo three days later.

Phil Foden is on duty for England U21’s as they face Albania and the Netherlands.

Portugal

Bernardo Silva and Joao Cancelo are in the Portuguese squad to face Lithuania and Luxembourg. Portugal will need to better Serbia’s results in their two games if they are to qualify for the finals.

Germany

With Leroy Sane still injured, City’s only representative in the German squad comes in the form of Ilkay Gundogan. The Germans welcome both Belarus and Northern Ireland as they look to secure their place in next summers finals.

France

Benjamin Mendy has been called up to the French squad for the first time in over a year for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Moldova and Albania. Menday has missed much of the international season due to injury.

Belgium

Kevin de Bruyne has been selected for the Belgian squad for their qualifiers against Russia and Cyprus. The Belgians have already qualified for Euro 2020 and the City talisman has four assists in his last three games for the national side.

Spain

Rodri makes his return to the Spanish squad for their qualifiers against Malta and Romania. The Spaniards have already qualified for the finals, and Rodri made his return from injury at the weekend in City’s 3-1 defeat at Liverpool.

Brazil and Argentina

Teammates will face each other in a friendly in Saudi Arabia on Friday as Ederson (if he’s now free from injury) and Gabriel Jesus face off against Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero of Argentina, who play Uruguay three days later.

Algeria

Riyad Mahrez will once again captain Algeria in their two matches against Zambia and Botswana as they look to defend their AFCON title.

We wish all our stars luck in their matches an hope they stay injury free.
