It has been an eventful 24 hours for Manchester City. After beating Liverpool to reduce the gap at the top to just four points, manager Pep Guardiola has been warned about his conduct.
The Catalan believed City midfielder Fernandinho was fouled in the build up to a Liverpool chance, in which Mo Salah came close to equalising for the reds, and Guardiola threw his scarf down in temper and remonstrated with the fourth official, before referee Anthony Taylor intervened.
Guardiola has now received his first warning from the FA about his behaviour, and will now have to be on his guard for the rest of the season. If Guardiola was to receive another three such warnings, he would be forced to serve a touchline ban.
In other news, it looks like City are about to lose another highly rated talent in the form of Brahim Diaz. The blues have so far failed to tie the young winger down to a long term contract, and it is believed the Spanish giants are close to agreeing a fee to take Diaz back to his homeland.
Diaz has found his opportunities at the Etihad severely limited, and will be encouraged by Jadon Sancho’s journey, who left the blues for Borussia Dortmund and has excelled in Germany this season.
