The 2018 Summer Transfer Window closed on 31 August. Despite many rumours linking Fabian Delph, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Brahim Díaz and Eliaquim Mangala on a potential loan or permanent transfer, the deals were not completed. As a result, they will remain with Manchester City for at least the first half of the season, and should any issues arise, they would be allowed to leave in the 2019 January Transfer Window.
Given their performances last season, it is likely they will be included in England’s cup matches. Should they hope to start in the English Premier League or the UEFA Champions League, however, they will need to earn their place in the senior team. A strong display in the domestic competitions could improve these chances.
Aside from these four players, City did see some activity in the final day of the 2018 Summer Transfer Window. Douglas Luiz, who was unable to obtain a work visa, will go on a season-long loan to Spanish side Girona whilst it was confirmed that Jason Denayer joined French club Olympique Lyonnais on a permanent deal.
Finally, the Blues acquired Daniel Arzani from Melbourne City. The Australian will go to Scottish club Celtic on a two-year loan.
