Manchester City will host Fulham at Etihad Stadium in the Fourth Round of the League Cup as they continue their defence of the trophy they won in February.
The blues strolled past Oxford United on Tuesday, with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden, and now welcome the West London side to battle it out for a place in the Quarter Final.
City will need to beware though when playing their Premier League opposition. The last two occasions City have won the trophy, they have gone out the following season to another Premier League side.
City won the trophy in 2014, but in October the following season, the blues went out of the competition after a 2-0 defeat at home to Newcastle. In 2016, City beat Liverpool to left the trophy again, only to fall once more at the fourth round stage, this time at Manchester United.
Will they avoid another fourth round defeat as holders? We’ll find out on 30th October when the two teams meet.
