Manchester City fans have been showing their class by wishing former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson well following his admission to hospital. Sir Alex underwent surgery for a brain haemorrhage last night, which was believed to be successful.

Sir Alex was undoubtedly one of the greatest managers in the Scottish and English leagues, leading Aberdeen to 11 major titles, before turning United into a major force both home and abroad, winning 28* major trophies in the process.

And following messages of support on social media last night, blues fans took to the pitch after City’s game against Huddersfield to send their regards to the Scot.

It is times like this when football rivalry really doesn’t matter. It shows just how precious life can be and in the blink of an eye, everything can change so suddenly. At the end of the day, all Sir Alex did was manage United. Yes his teams whipped City’s backsides regularly but that doesn’t mean we should wish any harm or ill feeling towards him. He is a human being and should be treated as such, whether associated with United or not.

From us all at Bitter and Blue, we wish Sir Alex a full and speedy recovery.
