Bayer Leverkusen striker Leon Bailey is on City’s radar, according to reports in the Manchester Evening News this evening.
The twenty year old striker is reportedly on Pep Guardiola’s wish list as he looks to bolster his attacking options as the blues prepare to defend their Premier League title next season, as well as aiming for Champions League glory.
It is also rumoured that City’s second choice keeper Claudio Bravo could potentially be part of any deal to bring Bailey to the Premier League. Jamaican born Bailey started his senior career with Belgian club Genk, before moving to the German side in 2017, and is a friend of City winger Raheem Sterling. This season, Bailey has scored nine goals and made six assists for the Bundesliga side.
Guardiola is looking to sign at least two players in the transfer window and he is rumoured to be interested in France midfielder Kylian Mbappe. Guardiola was rumoured to be after the Monaco man last season after impressing in the French team’s two legs in the Champions League last season.
But Guardiola is rumoured to have plans in place should a potential deal for Mbappe not come to fruition, with Bailey and Napoli midfielder Jorginho on the list. City will be eager to tie up any business before the world Cup begins in June.
