FULL-TIME, Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City: We tried a lot in the second half but couldn’t find a goal. We actually did, but it was wrongly disallowed for offside. Fun, right?

HALFTIME, Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City: I don’t even know what to say. This is so bad.

GOAL, Liverpool 3-0 Manchester City (Mané, 31’): This one is over, folks. Quick and painful.

GOAL, Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City (Oxlade-Chamberlain, 20’): A truly sensational strike from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain into the top corner, and hte Reds now have a two-goal lead that they now deserve because City are falling apart just like they did the last time we were at Anfield. This could get ugly very soon.

GOAL, Liverpool 1-0 Manchester City (Salah, 12’): City had a dominant start to the game, but one bad pass from Leroy Sané started a Liverpool counter-attack, and Mohamed Salah scored because he’s Mohamed Salah. Liverpool lead, but they don’t deserve it. Not at all.

KICKOFF! Liverpool 0-0 Manchester City: This should be fun, but please don’t give me a heart attack, boys!

Only one surprise from Pep Guardiola in his team selection, with Ilkay Gundogan replacing Raheem Sterling. Pep clearly wants to control as much possession as he can with four midfielders in the lineup, and with Aymeric Laporte again at left-back he hopes to have extra protection against Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mané. Kyle Walker seems to have the freedom to bomb forward from the right, with Kevin De Bruyne starting as a right winger but obviously coming into midfield when City have the ball.

Starting XI: Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Otamendi, Laporte; Gundogan, Fernandinho, Silva; De Bruyne, Jesus, Sané

Substitutes: Bravo, Danilo, Stones, Delph, Zinchenko, Bernardo, Sterling

Starting XI: Karius; Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Van Dijk, Robertson; Milner, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Firmino, Mané

Substitutes: Mignolet, Clyne, Masterson, Moreno, Wijnaldum, Ings, Solanke

Manchester City. Liverpool. Anfield. Champions League quarterfinals.

Pep Guardiola. Jürgen Klopp. Kevin De Bruyne. Mohamed Salah.
