The most colorful character and one of the most talented players in the Manchester City squad is back. After missing almost eight months recovering from a cruciate ligament injury, Benjamin Mendy has return to training ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League match against FC Basel.

Now, it’s important not to get ahead of ourselves. Mendy is back in training, but he hasn’t been training for EIGHT MONTHS, so it’ll take quite a long time for him to be back. Pep Guardiola initially said he’d be back for the semi-finals of the Champions League, which will happen in early April. But Mendy is back a little sooner than expected, so we could maybe see him back in the second leg of the quarter-finals, provided City confirmed their spot in the Last Eight.
But it won’t be long until we see the king of City’s social media back on the pitch. He was FANTASTIC in the few games he played for the club, so expect him to be back with a bang once he’s fully ready.
He won’t be back this week, or the next, and maybe not even the next one after that. But how good is it to see Benji on the pitch again, even if it’s just training?
