The squad with many changes from our midweek draw provided for a closer than usual win today. A straightforward win by any means it was not, with the cherries in the game until the late stages having tied it back with the champions in the first half who had led through a Bernardo Silva’s strike.
Manchester City have moved five points clear of the chasing pack with a well earned 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
City were much better after the break and goals from Raheem Sterling and Ilkay Gundogan sealed a 3-1 victory.
On to the reaction....
Pep Reaction
“A good win, after the Champions League it is always tough. People think it’s easy for us but that is not the truth so I like to win in this way.”
“We were flat but after we were more aggressive and we changed the game. I asked them for more at half time but the first five minutes was no good, they didn’t listen, but one action from
@sterling7 changed the game.”
“@LeroySane19 was fantastic. We don’t expect every 90 minutes to have an incredible performance. Sometimes it happens. It is a lesson we have to learn, how to win when we are tired.”
