In a move that in all honesty was never going to happen, Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has laughed off any chance of switching City allegiances, and insisted he is on the right side of the City.
After a difficult opening to the season, and failing to start any of the blues matches in October, one bookmaker slashed their odds on the German international making the switch to the dark side of Manchester.
However, Sane has literally laughed at the suggestion. “That won’t happen, that won’t happen. That won’t happen at all. I am really happy here and I’m on the right side.”
Last season’s young player of the year is starting to regain the form which won him that title, and was an instrumental part of City 6-1 hammering of Southampton on Sunday, which he capped with a well-taken goal in the final minutes. And Sane explained that he has not been concerned by the lack of first team starts this season. “I’m not worried at all. I know what they want from me and what they expect from me and I will just try to work hard.”
The blues, who moved two points clear at the top of the table, take on United at The Etihad Stadium, and they will be eager to avenge last season’s home defeat which saw United come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and delay City’s title party. But before that, City face Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Tuesday, looking to build on the 3-0 win in Ukraine last month.
