Manchester City made it through to the Champions League round of 16 for the sixth-consecutive year after a 2-2 draw with Lyon.

Goals by Aymeric Laporte and Sergio Aguero secured the passage to the next round for City. Leroy Sane also quietly had a good, solid game.

Also, of note is Laporte’s great form this season, as he was calm and controlled all game and kept us in this one. His goal was great, a pinpoint header after a deflection in the box to level the game at 1.

Pep Guardiola Reaction

“When you play against Lyon, it’s complicated because of how good they are. The level was quite similar across all the group, that’s why after starting with a 1-0 defeat at home to Lyon we have made an excellent four games.”

“Always you think ‘how will we react in that situation’ [going behind] and always we have shown a huge personality. We did it. We were strong in this situation.”
