The team had a different look this time out, but the result remained the same as City moved into the Carabao Cup quarter-finals at the Etihad Stadium.
It would come in two goals for Spaniard Brahim Diaz who was one of 10 changes to the starting line up. Diaz scored his first competitive goals for the current champs, who will now face either Leicester or Southampton in the next round.
On to the reaction, courtesy of ManCity.com:
Pep Reaction
“We were clever and created enough chance to score more goals.
“Everybody was good. Brahim make two goals, Aro (Muric) gave us good security, every time Phil (Foden) plays a good level, I wouldn’t say just one in particular, we made again an excellent performance without the ball we were aggressive.
“We played like the competition deserve and every game deserved. We are so satisfied with the victory.”

I always wondered how it would sound having my name chanted from the stands after scoring a goal. Now I have done it. Twice. And it’s unreal. Thank you for all your messages! On to the next round! ✨ pic.twitter.com/Qd8auCCVCq
