City winger Raheem Sterling has reportedly agreed to a new contract with the blues, which will tie him to the club until 2023.

Talks between the club and the England international had been slow moving and reportedly stopped at one point, however it has become clear that Sterling wants to stay at the club after claiming his first Premier League winners medal last season.

Sterling has made no secret of the fact that he would like to one day ply his trade abroad, but news of the new deal should be enough to ward of any potential suitors from the continent. It also means Sterling, with a reported income of £300,000 per week on the new contract, will become the highest paid British player in the world.
