We thought Manchester City would replace the injured Leroy Sané with Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez, and the Blues really tried. But in the end, it just hasn’t worked out.
Deal off. Manchester City give up on trying to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City. Made four bids

This report is from Sky, though, so we can’t be asbolutely sure. But it’s very likely that this is the case given Leicester rejected three different bids, the latest of £65 million plus a player (either Patrick Roberts or Eliaquim Mangala). Leicester want at least £90 million and that is just too much for Mahrez.
Pep Guardiola will go with Bernardo Silva and Brahim Díaz until Sané comes back, which is a risk but is not the worst alternative in the world. But that’s now Alexis Sánchez and Riyad Mahrez that we’ve missed out on, and that’s a shame.
Truste the youth, I guess...
