It’s deadline day, which means transfer craziness and everyone getting very excited. There’s expected to be plenty of movement and Manchester City may well be involved..
Mangala set to join Everton on loan
One player who is expected to leave Manchester City today is Eliaquim Mangala who is on his way to Everton on loan, according to ESPN.
Valencia and Newcastle have also been interested in the defender but it appears the Toffees have won the race for his signature.
The arrival of Aymeric Laporte means City are keen to reduce the wage bill and although it’s a loan for now, the club will expect to sell him in the summer.
Leicester want £100m for Mahrez
The only other player who could arrive looks to be Riyad Mahrez and, as you may expect, there’s lots of conflicting reports flying about.
The Daily Mail report that Manchester City have had a bid of £55 million turned down and that Leicester want an eye-watering £100m for the Algerian.
That’s highly unlikely and it will be interesting to see just how high City are prepared to go in their pursuit of Mahrez.
Mahrez not in Leicester squad
City may have been given encouragement by the fact that Mahrez is not in the Leicester City squad for tonight’s clash at Everton.
According to The Telegraph, Mahrez is not at the team hotel and will fight to make the transfer go through.
They report Leicester will accept £90m for Mahrez and say the transfer really could go either way.
