The transfer window closes tomorrow but that doesn’t mean the rumor mill stops whirring, and today is no exception with talk of a late Manchester City move for Riyad Mahrez.
The Leicester City winger seems to have been on the market for some time now but there have been no takers for the Algerian and the Foxes obviously want to keep hold of their star man.
However, according to The Sun, City are considering a late £60 million mega-move for Mahrez.
Now that all seemed quite unlikely until The Mirror also reported the same story and then The Telegraph’s Matt Law also said City were interested.
As reported by @MirrorAnderson , Manchester City have an interest in Riyad Mahrez but I'm told they will have to bid crazy money to convince Leicester to sell with one day of the window left

And suddenly it went from a crazy story that always seems to happen near deadline day to quite possibly a thing.
After all City have missed out on Alexis Sanchez and are now set to be without Leroy Sane for six weeks due to injury.
Mahrez, meanwhile, seems to be available, is a proven Premier League performer and would also be eligible for the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola was also asked about more January signings in his press conference and said he was almost sure nothing else would happen. Almost.
Guardiola on other business: "I don't know. I don't think so but in football everything can happen. 95 or 99% that nothing is going to happen."

It still seems pretty unlikely because Leicester will demand big money for their star man, and it’s all a bit late in the day, but at the moment it’s not completely beyond the realms of possibility.
