Leroy Sane has sent a message to supporters after sustaining an ankle injury in Manchester City’s FA Cup win over Cardiff City.
The winger was forced off after a reckless challenge from Joe Bennett who later apologised for his foul.
The club have since confirmed he has suffered ankle ligament damage but have not outlined when he will return to action.
However, Sane has posted a positive message on Twitter and sounds in pretty good spirits.
Thanks for all your messages yesterday and today! I suffered ankle ligament damage, but I think it isn't as bad as it looked. My rehab will start soon and I'm motivated to be back on the pitch as soon as possible! ⚽ #inSané #LS19 @ManCity pic.twitter.com/WQCpdFrgjO

It remains to be seen when Sane will be back, but his message and City’s statement yesterday certainly suggest the injury is not too serious.
Get well soon Leroy!
