The Aymeric Laporte to Manchester City rumours are not just back, they are hotting up and it’s starting to look like he will arrive in January,
According to multiple reports in the UK and Spain, the defender has agreed a deal in principle to join Manchester City and has told Athletic Bilbao he wants to leave.
Marca and Cope both say he will sign a five-year deal and the deal should all be wrapped up by early next week.
Goal say the move should now happen quickly as Laporte has informed Athletic of his desire to leave and City are convinced he is now committed to a move to the club.
The Manchester Evening News also add that Laporte will be left out of the Athletic squad for Friday’s game against Eibar as negotiations with City continue.
City are willing to pay his €65 million release clause and as such have completely dropped their interest in Jonny Evans.
Of course we’ve pretty much been here before with Laporte, but if the reports are to be believed this time City look set to get their man.
