Manchester City are going to Wembley! The Blues defeated Bristol City 3-2 in the second leg of their IT’S NOT THE CARABAO CUP, IT’S LEAGUE CUP semi-final and are moving on to the Final. Below are my final whistle thoughts. Still to come: Match Report, Quotes and Tweets, 3 Things Learned, and Tactical Analysis.

  • Bernardo Silva was SPECTACULAR tonight. Just amazing from start to finish, and probably his best game in a City shirt. He looked a lot like David Silva tonight, which is obviously a great sign for the future.
  • Shoutout to Leroy Sané as well. He’s been up and down lately, but he was up tonight. Worked his tail off for 90 minutes and was in the right place at the right time to score a crucial opener for the Blues.
  • Sergio Agüero is back to his best. He’s got 8 goals in the first 23 days of 2018, and Gabriel Jesus has not been missed so far. His goal tonight was a trademark Agüero finish, and it was beautiful to watch. We love you, Kun.
  • Claudio Bravo annoys me. He’s very good with the ball at his feet, but it seems like he wants to show everybody that he’s very good with the ball at his feet. He ALWAYS takes at least one extra touch before passing the ball with some style, which just slows things down in the buildup. Ederson is simply a lot quicker with his passing, and that is why Bravo is the backup with no debate.
