The Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City transfer saga has taken yet another twist with reports claiming the club are holding new talks about a move for the Chilean today.
Previous speculation had claimed that City were ready to walk away from a deal for Sanchez as they did not want to pay Arsenal’s asking price or pay huge agent’s fees.
That appeared to pave the way for Manchester United to land the Arsenal star, with Jose Mourinho’s men apparently willing to spend big to take him to Old Trafford.
However, according to the Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola will meet with chief executive Ferran Soriano and football director Txiki Begiristain to discuss the move.
City do not want to pay more than £20 million for Sanchez, but Arsenal want £35m and Sanchez is apparently after a massive £400,000 a week.
There’s only some doubt as to how serious United are about Sanchez, according to the MEN, although Mourinho described him as a “phenomenal player” last week.
What does seem certain is that Sanchez is desperate to leave Arsenal this month - but for now at least we seem no closer to knowing where he might end up.
