Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Fabian Delph is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee problem during Sunday’s defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Delph was forced off after just 31 minutes and was replaced by Danilo but his injury leaves City short at left-back.
“He will be out for a while. It is his knee,” said Guardiola after the game.
“It’s different (to his previous injury). That was a muscular injury.”

With Benjamin Mendy still some months away from a return City are left with Danilo and Oleks Zinchenko as options at left-back.
The club have been linked with a move for a new defender in January with Faouzi Ghoulam and Ryan Bertrand among some of the names mentioned.
