Manchester City left-back Benjamin Mendy has given a fitness update as he battles back from a serious knee injury.
The summer signing ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament against Crystal Palace in September but is in optimistic mood as he recovers.
“I’m getting better, I’m in full rehabilitation,” he said.
“I started running and working with the ball last week. Back by the end of May? It’s not a hope, I’ll be there.”

Mendy’s injury was a real blow to Manchester City as he had looked really exciting in the early weeks of the season.
Although the club has coped pretty well without him, his return when it finally happens will be a huge boost and he’ll probably feel like a new signing.
Mendy’s also been great value off the pitch while he’s been injured, keeping fans entertained on social media, and being City’s chief cheerleader.
