Manchester City goalkeeper Éderson Moraes had a very serious injury scare against Liverpool on Saturday after taking a boot to the face from Sadio Mané at the end of the first half. Éderson needed to be stretchered off and things looked scary for a while, but we’ve been given some encouraging updates on his status.
Ederson not concussed, not going to hospital. Going to medical institute beside City campus to check for fracture.— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) September 9, 2017
We still need to see if there are any facial fractures, but the fact he’s avoided a concussion is certainly great news. Claudio Bravo will be the goalkeeper until his return, but it looks like Éderson will be back sooner than later.
