One of the many signings Manchester City made this summer was Portuguese playmaker Bernardo Silva, who joined the club from AS Monaco. Bernardo was training with Portugal for the Confederations Cup before the transfer, and he asked a few of his national teammates just to make sure he was making the right decision.
Bernardo happens to play with former Manchester United man and Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ronaldo helped Bernardo make his mind about joining the Blues.
"When I was with Portugal at the Confederations Cup and about to sign, I asked Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani about the city. They told me how much they enjoyed it here. They said that all of the people were great and that it's a real football city.
“The Premier League, too – a competitive league with full stadiums each week and everyone watching. They both said it would be a great move."

Bernardo is really fortunate to have Cristiano Ronaldo on his team, but it is weird that we have to be somewhat thankful to a former United player because a very good young Portuguese has joined City.
Thanks, Ronaldo, I guess?
