A new report from the Independent indicates that Paris Saint-Germain aren't done spending big on summer transfers just yet, and that could affect Manchester City.
After signing Neymar from Barcelona for more money than most people will ever see in their lives, PSG are reportedly lining up an £80 million offer for Alexis Sánchez. The Chilean star has made it clear this summer he does not want to remain at Arsenal but Arsene Wenger has been adamant he won't sell his star man.
The situation surrounding Sanchez is muddled by a number of intricacies. Firstly there’s the fact that Sanchez’s current deal expires at the end of next season, meaning any team can sign him on a free next summer; secondly are the wages being offered by each club. PSG look set to offer an astounding £400,000 a week to turn the Chilean’s head and get him in Paris. Arsenal have supposedly offered over £250,000 a week and if rumors are to be believed Alexis would take less money than that to reunited with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
If you follow City then you’ve heard all summer how Sanchez only wants to play for City and Guardiola, but the wages being offered by PSG plus the chance to play with Neymar might tempt Arsenal’s main man. Wenger has remained strong in his stance of not selling Alexis this summer, and if the Chilean remains at the club this season then expect both City and PSG to pursue the forward extremely hard next summer.
