Unless something crazy happens over the next few hours, Manchester City will not be able to complete the two deals they wanted to on Deadline Day. According to James Ducker of the Telegraph, City won’t be able to complete the transfer of Alexis Sánchez from Arsenal and will also fail to sign Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion.
There will be no third bid for Sanchez from #mcfc/Deal not happening this summer.Mangala staying put it seems so Evans deal also looks dead

The two deals were very difficult because of the complicating factors involved. For Alexis Sánchez, Arsenal needed to sign Thomas Lemar as a replacement before allowing Alexis to leave, and with Lemar refusing to join the Gunners, the deal was off.
In the case of Jonny Evans, City needed to offload Eliaquim Mangala first, which they almost did with Crystal Palace, but Mangala rejected a move to Selhurst Park and with Palace signing Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool, there’s nowhere for Mangala to go and it looks like he’ll stay at City and Evans will not leave West Brom.
If things don’t change in a miraculous way over the next few hours, City will suffer a major double blow and the squad won’t be as deep as it could be for the new season. Oh well.
