Manchester City are still not done with their chase of West Bromwich captain Jonny Evans, who has become a top target for the Blues. City want to add depth to their defense and have identified Evans as the right man for his experience and quality, but West Brom are not making things easy.
The Baggies rejected an offer of £18 million last week and set Evans’ price at £30 million. And according to a new report from The Times, City will make an improved bid that comes a lot closer to what Albion want.

The report says that Tony Pulis will not sell before finding a replacement for Evans, and that replacement is likely to be Kevin Wimmer from Tottenham Hotspur. City want to sell Eliaquim Mangala before completing the Evans transfer, so we’ll have to wait a few more days for this saga to end.
Thankfully the summer transfer window ends in a week, so we’ll find out soon whether or not Jonny Evans will be a Blue.
